Oil and Gas Service Providers Association of Nigeria (OGSPAN) was Incorporated on July 2, 2007 by the Corporate Affairs Commission.
Oil and Gas Service Providers Association of Nigeria (OGSPAN) is an Incorporated Trustees which membership is open to all Nigerian based Oil and Gas Industry Service (Companies) Providers which are registered with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and have chosen to come together and to work for the common good of members, the country and the industry. It is an organization that protects the interests of service providers in the petroleum industry in Nigeria.
The idea of the Association was muted by Mazi Colman Obasi at the first ever National Awareness Workshop organized for Service Providers on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, by NIPEX JOINT Quality System NJQS, held at Golden Gate Restaurant, Ikoyi Lagos. The workshop was organized to create awareness of the birth of NIPEX as an intermediary procurement agency between service buyers and providers in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria. Over 300 service providers attended the workshop.
The purpose of the Association is to:
1. Provide a cutting/leading-edge platform for the development of the petroleum industry in Nigeria and promote jointly and individually the participation of members in those endeavors and;
2. Cooperate with service buyers (SB) and other organized groups in the private and public sectors, governments and other stakeholders in the economy to achieve our goals and;
3. Use crude oil, gas and non-hydrocarbon resources in the industry to create business enablement for members in the industry and at the industry’s virtual marketplace and the Nigerian Content Initiatives;
4. Use the resources of the industry to regeneration and industrialize the Nigerian economy and other initiatives that already exist and or may be coming up from time to time designed for the growth of the industry in Nigeria.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of the Association shall include but not limited to the following:
1. To provide a common platform for the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry based Service Providers for the good of members and the value chain of oil resources on the Nigeria economy and the industrialization of Nigeria.
2. To become the nexus for the exchange of ideas and information for the development and promotion of local Nigerian content in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria
3. To encourage the harnessing of resources and technical expertise by members and the formation of alliances for a competitive edge in the oil and gas marketplace.
MEMBERSHIP
The Membership Is Totally Voluntary And Corporate, not the individual nominated to represent them, and such other body corporate or firms that have acquired regulatory agency statutory permit/registration to operate in the oil, gas and energy industry in Nigeria and is willing to participate in the Joint efforts to grow the industry and be admitted to the membership in accordance with the provision of this constitution.
The number and classification of members shall be unlimited but subject to the available products/services in the oil and gas industry and or as provided in the Product / Service Code, Nigerian Petroleum Exchange (NipeX)-Achilles or any other documents that will from time to time be classified or reclassified on the available services in the industry.

ACTIVITIES
Ever since OGSPAN has been involved in a lot of industry activities and projects in the downstream and upstream. such activities include participation in conferences, exhibitions and collaborative projects by our members and other providers in and outside the industry. We are committed to the digital transformation of the industry among our members in Nigeria and the delivery of the manufacturing sector - engineering and petrochemicals subsectors which are currently underserved.
